Lake Colyer

Decided to try out Lake Colyer this morning. Being only 20 mins away it was a good choice for the possibility of rain with hurricane Irene coming. We got there sometime around 8 to 9 in the morning. There was already a group of people fishing in front of the car park and a few people with model yachts out on the water. From the car park we could see fish rising and some good spots along the dam side. After rigging up the 7wt and 5wt rods we headed off. Using Mrs. Simpson and a black fly we were able to hook into a few fish. After about 3 hours we had caught about 12 bluegills and a perch, could have possibly been more perch if I did not lose a few. We did not see any pickerel, which were meant to be there.
